The two rightouesnesses

There are two ways to be Righteous. The first is by the law. In order to be righteous by the law, you need to keep all the laws of God.

If you have broken some law, there is no way out of that. You are now unrighteous. This is why God has made a different way….

The second is by faith. To be Righteous by faith you need to believe the Word of God, like Abraham, believed God, and it was a credited to him as Righteousness.

Any wrongdoing should not change your state (as being righteous) since you are justified by faith, you will remain justified as long as you keep the faith. For this reason, the just shall live by faith. Your faith does become your life. If by some misconduct you do feel unrighteous you just have to increase your faith because your righteousness are independent of following the law.

If then not by the law, does that mean we can continue breaking the laws of God. Of cause not. In thinking like this you don’t believe that you are righteous. If you believe you are justified, then you should ensure you have not received the grace of God in vain.

Soon in doing this you will start acting that which you are. Those God justified He has also glorified.

We have two lives

We have two lives: the one life is also called “the flesh” and the other is the everlasting life. But it is this everlasting life that is only available to Christians, but only to those willing to relinquish their old life.

The flesh life is also referred to as psoo-kay Matt16:25 or bee-os Luk 8:14. The other life, is the spiritual life, and its called the Zoe life. How do we obtain the real everlasting life?

John 12:25 : 25 Whoever loves his life (psoo-kay) loses it, and whoever hates his life (psoo-kay) in this world will keep it for eternal life. (dzo-ay zoe )26 If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.

Now to obtain this “Zoe life we have to die to our old life and its precepts. You have to die to your old desires and the old rules of your old life.

Col 2 20 If with Christ you died to the elemental spirits of the world, why, as if you were still alive in the world, do you submit to this old live’s regulations … according to human precepts and teachings?

Cross

How can this be done? By identifying with the cross of Jesus. We identify with his death in order that his resurrection power can work in us, picking up our own cross and follow Him.

Matt 10 38 And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. 39 Whoever finds his life (psoo-kay) will lose it, and whoever loses his life (psoo-kay) for my sake will find it.
Mark 8 : 25 “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.

I have to take my old life and let it be crucified with Jesus, unto death in order that the new life might lead to the everlasting life. then after allowing God to pring this to completion we might also say with Paul:

Gal 2 19 For through the law I died to the law, so that I might live to God. 20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Our two lives

This is a transcript of Brother Pieter on Sunday 6 Jan 2019.

We have two lives one life is the life I live in this world and enjoy the things of this world. Its called the flesh life (psoo-kay Matt16:25 or bee-os Luk 8:14). Then I have another life in me, that is the spiritual life, that is the Zoe life living in me.

Jesus said the following:

John 12:25 : 25 Whoever loves his life (psoo-kay) loses it, and whoever hates his life (psoo-kay) in this world will keep it for eternal life. (dzo-ay zoe )26 If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.

Where do we follow Jesus? Through the cross. Jesus had to face the cross and death before He could give us what we have today : Eternal Life. I saw in a vision rows of crosses and I saw on one cross my name, Jesus said:

Matt 10 38 And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. 39 Whoever finds his life (psoo-kay) will lose it, and whoever loses his life (psoo-kay) for my sake will find it.

Mark 8 :25 “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.

There is a Cross for me. For I have to take my life in this world and let it be crucified with Jesus, unto death, and if that happens in my life and my old sin life is crucified an new life will come that will grow up for the Glory of God. So the Lord invites us to bring our old lives before Him and be crucified with Him. Its not easy folks, it is a hard battle, but its real and its truthful. Your Christian life will be empty without being crucified with Christ.

Heb 12 Let us look unto Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

May God bless you you cannot do it yourself let the Holy Spirit lead you into the death of Christ. A cross less Christian society is empty, mere words,no victory, no fruit. But the life beyond the cross is where the new life can be found.

Reconciled to God

2 Cor 5 : …who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation .. not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. 20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

The ministry of reconciliation, this is the core of the gospel. To be reconciled to God. If you make the purpose of your faith to be reconciled to God, you will notice that he has given us everything to achieve this. I will try to explain. It is our sins that has brought devision between us and God, and for that he has given us a sacrifice, the Blood of Christ.

Ef 2 : 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

That takes care of our past sins but what about our sinful nature? Wont that continually bring a new devisions between us and God? This is where righteousness is so important.

Rom 1: 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes … for in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith,as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”[f

2 Cor 5:  …be reconciled to God. 21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Now even though we might still falter we know that through faith God has declared us righteousness.  So now we live in this Righteousness we don’t see ourselves as we were but a new creation, one that lives for the purposes of God and not according to the our own desires. What about when we do falter? Then there is grace not to sin but to live righteous.  All this is the outcome of our faith since we believe the word of God above our experiences.

How to have access to God’s Grace

Rom5:1
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through Him we have also obtained access by faith  into this grace in which we stand

One of my favorite subjects is Righteousness. It is not a word that is used by many people, most people would be able to give a definition or attempt a definition for Grace, but not many people would be able to define Righteousness.

Righteousness is the Gospel, not grace or love as many believe, but Righteousness. Rom 1:16 .. the gospel… is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes … for in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”

Mat 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and HIS righteousness…

We are as believers on our way to Heaven not because of grace but because we are righteous and if you are not righteous then you are unrighteous. 2 Pet 2:9  the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment.

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith… we have access by faith ..into this grace in which we stand.

We first have to be Righteous before we have access to the grace which we STAND.

Now, where does Grace fit in? It is by grace we are saved Eff 2:5 we were dead in your transgressions and sins,  in which we used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air.. [but now HE]… made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.

So the purpose of grace is for us to be transformed from the kingdom of darkness to the Kingdom of Light. Now the grace is also there to keep in in the Kingdom of Light. If we falter we know there is grace for us. 1 John 2

My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

This is what it means to live by faith. The grace is not a license to sin but on the contrary to free us from the bondage of sin. In order to live a life like “the Righteousness of God” which we are.

I want to jump to the rebellion in the desert described in Num13/14,

Heb 3:13
“Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. We have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original conviction firmly to the very end. As has just been said:

“Today, if you hear his voice,
do not harden your hearts
as you did in the rebellion.”

Who were they who heard and rebelled? Were they not all those Moses led out of Egypt? And with whom was he angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies perished in the wilderness? And to whom did God swear that they would never enter his rest if not to those who disobeyed? So we see that they were not able to enter, because of their unbelief.

This Scripture refers to an event that we can read in Num 13/14. After the people rebelled against Moses God stated: Num 14:11 The Lord said to Moses, “How long will these people treat me with contempt? How long will they refuse to believe in me, in spite of all the signs I have performed among them? I will strike them down with a plague and destroy them, but I will make you into a nation greater and stronger than they.”

Moses then pleaded with the Lord for grace.

In accordance with your great love, forgive the sin of these people, just as you have pardoned them from the time they left Egypt until now.”
The Lord replied, “I have forgiven them, as you asked. 21 Nevertheless ….not one of them will ever see the land I promised on oath to their ancestors.

So who entered into the promised land, was it not them that believed and whose bodies are still in the desert? Is it not those who have received grace?

I don’t want to take anything away from the grace of God, it is astonishing how full of grace God is, but as believers, we believe in the Righteousness of God. God grace has appeared to all men to bring them into his wonderful Light.

Rom 3
His righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe … for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his Grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus…. so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.

Therefore we have moved from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of Light,

God’s Grace allows us to run towards God when we sin.
If you sin, or before you sin evil thoughts enter in your mind, you should move closer to God because He has the solution for sin. This is the simplest form of repentance since its stop what you are doing and turn to God. If you run from God then you don’t understand the Grace of God.

Gods holiness can cause us to run from Him when we sin or even having the wrong thoughts. If you continue in your sin then you don’t understand the Holiness of God.

Gods blood is the solution to sin. This is one of the achievements of the cross. The cross will cause sin to be removed from your members. if you don’t change in your walk with God then you don’t understand the redemption and salvation of God.

When the Adversaries come

From Lambert:
1 Corinthians 16:9 KJV
For a GREAT DOOR and EFFECTUAL is opened unto me, and there ARE many ADVERSARIES.

Take Note:

What is our mindset.. when the ADVERSARIES come?

Do we wonder then if we have missed it, … misinterpreted God’s voice? Do we blame ourselves as having failed? Should we change strategy?

According to this scripture , it is safe to say that we can expect adversaries when we are in the Will of God.

If the enemy can get us to doubt whether we are in God’s will, we will stop doing His work.. isn’t that what the enemy aims to do?

Let us continue to seek His Face, get instruction from Him.. and while we DO His Work…

OVERCOME BY:
And they OVERCAME
him (Satan, Devil, Serpent, Dragon) by

Revelation 12:11-12 KJV
And they OVERCAME him by the BLOOD of the LAMB, and by the WORD of THEIR TESTIMONY; and they LOVED NOT THEIR LIVES unto the death. [12] Therefore REJOICE, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, HAVING GREAT WRATH, BECAUSE he KNOWETH that he hath BUT a SHORT TIME.

2 Timothy 1:7 KJV
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

GOD GAVE US:
-Power
-Love
-Sound Mind

GOD DID NOT GIVE US:
-Fear

FEAR IS THE OPPOSITE OF FAITH.. because we Trust Him and He is Love.. if we activate the Faith in Him (Love), love will drive out all fear. Without Faith, we cannot tap into that LOVE.

So if God did not give us Fear.
He has given Faith in His unfailing LOVE.

1 Corinthians 16:13 KJV
Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.

WE MUST
-Watch
-Stand firm in the faith
-Be men, act like men
-Be strong

Get you Hope right

Heb 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for.
It is of vital importance in applying your faith to get your Hope right. Curry Blake said he once had an opportunity to see Lester Sumrall. He had 2 burning questions for the Man of God.

  • How do I know what is Gods will?
  • How do I know what God wants me to do?

Curry said the Lester replied. How do I know what is Gods will: read the Bible. How to know what God wants me to do: Do the Bible. Now, this brings me back to Get Your Hope Right. Rom 5:5 Such hope {in God’s promises} never disappoints us, because God’s love has been abundantly poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. AMP

Whatever you are going through get some scripture that speaks against that and put your hope in that, then even if your immediate outcome is not favourable, that scripture is still valid. Your faith is then not based on fleeting outcomes and every so often disappointments but in the Word of God. My pastor likes to say: This is the Word of God, God said it, I believe it and that settles it.

True Faith vs False Faith

How to identify false faith. Its actually easy. If its against the word of God its false faith. The true believers has this saying, “we don’t let ourselves be govern by our experience but rather by the Word of God.”

Now quite often our experience is not the same as what we believed God for, but if our experience differ from that of the Word of God, does that make the faith of God to no avail?

Does our failure to believe make the faith of God of no avail?  Rom 3:3 Does their faithlessness nullify the faithfulness of God? By no means! Let God be true though every one were a liar..

True faith is to keep on believing even if our experiences differ. I think the most practical for everyone is this. We all have tried to stop sinning, and then we fail. Does our failure now constitute that we will always continue in sin?
Consider: 1 Jon 5:18 We know that everyone who has been born of God does not keep on sinning, but he who was born of God protects him, and the evil one does not touch him.

So if you do continue in sin, you just need more faith. Believe the Word of God above your experience.

(Read get your Hope Right post that is soon to come. ? )

Once that mountain moves, then you will know that the Word of God is trustworthy and true.

Hanukkah and the End Times

Here is my highlights (from part 2)  :

  • Could not have happened unless the people of God started to apostatize and compromise. They let falsehood in.  Sanctifying abominations.
  • Spirit of the Antichrist will change things that is natural to that which is unnatural.
  • Spirit of Blasphemy. It not really tolerance its just tolerance of evil. Its simply saying good is evil and evil is good.

The Maccabees :

  • Does not matter that the odds are against us.
  • We don’t wanna be politically correct.
  • They learned to become warriors.
  • It all out for God.
  • Never be discouraged.
  • Train your mind for God.
  • Carry on joyfully.
  • Be faithful and I have won.
  • God loves it when you have got to the point where you don’t think you can go on anymore, and you say “You know what: I will go on another step just for You God”, and that is usually when the breakthrough comes. (Remember joy does not stop)
  • They where the Hammers of God.

Faith

For some time now I wanted to give a definition of faith. Faith is one of the most important aspects of being a Christian, but recently I had some new insight into faith and want to share it.

My Faith Definition
Faith is to bring a FUTURE event into the NOW as it were decided already in the PAST.

Now if I go and pray for someone that is sick. I know that : by His Wounds I was Healed.

[By the way this is a quote from Isaiah 53:5 ...and with his wounds we are healed present tense and when it is quoted in the NT 1 Peter 2:24 ...By his wounds you have been healed. its the past tense]

Important here is to notice that you don’t have to convince God to heal someone, it has been decided already. So now I don’t see it , that’s why the person is sick, then, by faith I call some future event into the NOW as it were decided already in the past.?

If I do see a healing I don’t need more faith, but if it does not happen immediately, then you require more faith, and in doing so the more your faith grows and you will see more instant healing.

Lets just look at the scripture.(Faith is calling things that are not as they were)

Rom 4:17 KJV
..before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

Now here is where many people has it wrong, they think faith is the stuff that you need “lots of” in order to get God to move for you, and its not, actually quite the opposite. You need to know who God is and what He wants to do, or already has done.

How do you try to have faith? Faith is the substance of thinks hoped for, your hope comes from knowing Him. Faith is your spontaneous result from your relationship with God. It is the outworking of Love through knowing Him, since he first Loved you. Faith works through Love, it’s a relationship, and Faith is the spontaneous flow of my Life through knowing him. If you are trying to have faith you are revealing that you don’t. Dan Mohler
