I want to just remind everyone of some of the facts. For me the sign of Revelation 12 is awesome and most definitely something that is to be marveled.
Now lets go back to the first time this sign appeared. What was the fulfillment of the sign? A Baby was born. Something that happens every day.
Isaiah 7:14 14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.
For years no one has seen anything from that sign, later they saw Jesus, and after years of wondrous miracles the church started with a group of 120. See Acts 1:15
One other thing I want to mention. Some future events are being given to us very clearly. Jesus announced his death and resurrection multiple times to them, after that He had to rebuked them for their unbelief.
Mark 16:14 Later Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating; he rebuked them for their lack of faith and their stubborn refusal to believe those who had seen him after he had risen.
Luke 24 44 He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.” 45 Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. 46 He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, 47 and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 You are witnesses of these things. 49 I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”
With prophecy hind site is 20/20, I was that way then and although, in the last days, more things will be revealed, like Revelation 12, I don’t think we will completely understand prophecy for the future.
1 Corinthians 13:9 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part…
Now wrt Revelation 12, and the interpretation thereof, I also find myself coming up with all kinds of scenarios. I think we should stand back have our eyes focused on Jesus. Anticipating something. Awaiting a crown of righteousness.
2 Timothy 4:8 8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
Remember this is His sign, it is a good time to focus on Him.
Lets look a little at some prophecy. The Messiah should be born in BethlehemO Bethlehem ..from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel
Will come out of Egyptand out of Egypt I called my son
Will be known as a Nazarenethat he would be called a Nazarene
Looks like its contradicting unless you look at the fulfillment.
