We have two lives: the one life is also called “the flesh” and the other is the everlasting life. But it is this everlasting life that is only available to Christians, but only to those willing to relinquish their old life.
The flesh life is also referred to as
John 12:25 : 25 Whoever loves his life (psoo-kay) loses it, and whoever hates his life (psoo-kay) in this world will keep it for eternal life. (dzo-ay zoe )26 If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.

How can this be done? By identifying with the cross of Jesus. We identify with his death in order that his resurrection power can work in us, picking up our own cross and follow Him.
Matt 10 38 And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. 39 Whoever finds his life (
psoo-kay) will lose it, and whoever loses his life ( psoo-kay) for my sake will find it.
Mark 8 : 25 “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.
I have to take my old life and let it be crucified with Jesus, unto death in order that the new life might lead to the everlasting life. then after allowing God to
