Ps 16 : 11
You make known to me the path of life;
in your presence there is fullness of joy;
at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
What stops us from being in His presence and experiencing the fullness of joy as it mentions in Psalm 16:11?
It is not accepting the robes of righteousness (right standing with God ) that Christ has given us.
We no longer recognize anyone according to the flesh (2 Corinthians 5:16) should that not also include ourselves? Seeing ourselves not according to the flesh but according to the new spirit man.
But what happens if I sin?
Repentance is to change the way you think. Dan Mohler puts repentance in this way:
At this point we have a choice: we can let the Devil drag us through shame and continual replay of failure. (Recognizing ourselves according to the flesh and hiding from God like Adam and Eve with fig leaves over our nakedness)
OR
We can recognize that after we are born again that when we are in Christ we are a new creation, old things passed away, all things are new, all things are of God. 2 Corinthians 5:17-21. It is, therefore, a recognition problem that people have! We are to wear the King’ s Clothes ? The robes of Righteousness through the finished work of Christ on the cross received by faith in Him and His work – which changes us from the inside out.
How does righteousness help us to experience the fullness of joy in God’s presence? Well, I have already alluded to how Adam and Eve ran from God’s presence when they were not in right standing with Him. The kingdom of God as righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit
Well, being righteous – squeaky clean, in right standing with God through Jesus – leads to peace with God, which allows us to be in His presence without guilt or shame to enjoy Him!
From Tim. Thanks!
