Avenge me Lord
L
et their way be dark and slippery, with the angel of the LORD pursuing them. PS 35:6I love this verse. Imagine the person / persons that has wronged you running, with the Angel of the Lord pursuing them, and they cant get away.

Thats not all Let destruction come upon him when he does not know it! And let the net that he hid ensnare him; let him fall into it—to his destruction! PS 35:8

Have you ever considered the Lord fighting on your behalf? Why not? I am sure He wants to: The LORD is a jealous and avenging God; the LORD is avenging and wrathful; the LORD takes vengeance on his adversaries and keeps wrath for his enemies. Nah 1:1 The LORD is avenging and wrathful? The LORD is slow to anger and great in power, and the LORD will by no means clear the guilty. His way is in whirlwind and storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet. Nah 1:3 Thank goodness He is slow to anger but we will get to that later, for now it states:LORD will by no means clear the guilty. To forgive is not to say that the hurt that someone caused will go unnoticed. On the contrary: May all who gloat over my distress be put to shame and confusion; may all who exalt themselves over me be clothed with shame and disgrace. Psa 35:26 (niv) Then my tongue shall tell of your righteousness and of your praise all the day long. Psa 35:28

Of David. Contend, O LORD, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me! Take hold of shield and buckler and rise for my help! Draw the spear and javelin against my pursuers! Say to my soul, "I am your salvation!" Let them be put to shame and dishonor who seek after my life! Let them be turned back and disappointed who devise evil against me! Let them be like chaff before the wind, with the angel of the LORD driving them away! Let their way be dark and slippery, with the angel of the LORD pursuing them! For without cause they hid their net for me; without cause they dug a pit for my life. Let destruction come upon him when he does not know it! And let the net that he hid ensnare him; let him fall into it—to his destruction! Then my soul will rejoice in the LORD, exulting in his salvation. All my bones shall say, "O LORD, who is like you, delivering the poor from him who is too strong for him, the poor and needy from him who robs him?" Malicious witnesses rise up; they ask me of things that I do not know. They repay me evil for good; my soul is bereft. But I, when they were sick— I wore sackcloth; I afflicted myself with fasting; I prayed with head bowed on my chest. I went about as though I grieved for my friend or my brother; as one who laments his mother, I bowed down in mourning. But at my stumbling they rejoiced and gathered; they gathered together against me; wretches whom I did not know tore at me without ceasing; like profane mockers at a feast, they gnash at me with their teeth. How long, O Lord, will you look on? Rescue me from their destruction, my precious life from the lions! I will thank you in the great congregation; in the mighty throng I will praise you. Let not those rejoice over me who are wrongfully my foes, and let not those wink the eye who hate me without cause. For they do not speak peace, but against those who are quiet in the land they devise words of deceit. They open wide their mouths against me; they say, "Aha, Aha! Our eyes have seen it!" You have seen, O LORD; be not silent! O Lord, be not far from me! Awake and rouse yourself for my vindication, for my cause, my God and my Lord! Vindicate me, O LORD, my God, according to your righteousness, and let them not rejoice over me! Let them not say in their hearts, "Aha, our heart's desire!" Let them not say, "We have swallowed him up." Let them be put to shame and disappointed altogether who rejoice at my calamity! Let them be clothed with shame and dishonor who magnify themselves against me! Let those who delight in my righteousness shout for joy and be glad and say evermore, "Great is the LORD, who delights in the welfare of his servant!" Then my tongue shall tell of your righteousness and of your praise all the day long.
Nah 1:1 An oracle concerning Nineveh. The book of the vision of Nahum of Elkosh. Nah 1:2 The LORD is a jealous and avenging God; the LORD is avenging and wrathful; the LORD takes vengeance on his adversaries and keeps wrath for his enemies. Nah 1:3 The LORD is slow to anger and great in power, and the LORD will by no means clear the guilty. His way is in whirlwind and storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet. Nah 1:4 He rebukes the sea and makes it dry; he dries up all the rivers; Bashan and Carmel wither; the bloom of Lebanon withers. Nah 1:5 The mountains quake before him; the hills melt; the earth heaves before him, the world and all who dwell in it. Nah 1:6 Who can stand before his indignation? Who can endure the heat of his anger? His wrath is poured out like fire, and the rocks are broken into pieces by him. Nah 1:7 The LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; he knows those who take refuge in him. Nah 1:8 But with an overflowing flood he will make a complete end of the adversaries, and will pursue his enemies into darkness. Nah 1:9 What do you plot against the LORD? He will make a complete end; trouble will not rise up a second time. Nah 1:10 For they are like entangled thorns, like drunkards as they drink; they are consumed like stubble fully dried. Nah 1:11 From you came one who plotted evil against the LORD, a worthless counselor. Nah 1:12 Thus says the LORD, "Though they are at full strength and many, they will be cut down and pass away. Though I have afflicted you, I will afflict you no more. Nah 1:13 And now I will break his yoke from off you and will burst your bonds apart." Nah 1:14 The LORD has given commandment about you: "No more shall your name be perpetuated; from the house of your gods I will cut off the carved image and the metal image. I will make your grave, for you are vile." Nah 1:15 Behold, upon the mountains, the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace! Keep your feasts, O Judah; fulfill your vows, for never again shall the worthless pass through you; he is utterly cut off.
Are you waiting for justice?
Then my soul will rejoice in the Lord and delight in his salvation. My whole being will exclaim, “Who is like you, Lord? You rescue the poor from those too strong for them, the poor and needy from those who rob them.”Psa 35:10 Do you think David was poor? Needy? Remember he was not only the King but also a strong warrior even as a boy. But he knew the source of his power, and refused to take matters in his (David) own hands, leaving him poor and needy. Have a look what David did when Absalom plotted to take his kingdom away. David was not sure if it was God taking it away and refused to hold on to it by force 2 Sam 15, 2 Sam 16, 2 Sam 17, 2 Sam 18. His answer was It may be that the LORD will look on the wrong done to me, and that the LORD will repay me with good for his cursing today." 2Sam 16:12 . and only a few days later Absalom's destruction was swift : "Behold, I saw Absalom hanging in an oak." 2 Sam 18:10 Moses too refused to take justice on some troublemakers and left it to God, and see what happened in Num 16:28-32.
2Sam 15:10 But Absalom sent secret messengers throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, "As soon as you hear the sound of the trumpet, then say, 'Absalom is king at Hebron!'" 2Sam 15:11 With Absalom went two hundred men from Jerusalem who were invited guests, and they went in their innocence and knew nothing. 2Sam 15:12 And while Absalom was offering the sacrifices, he sent for Ahithophel the Gilonite, David's counselor, from his city Giloh. And the conspiracy grew strong, and the people with Absalom kept increasing. 2Sam 15:13 And a messenger came to David, saying, "The hearts of the men of Israel have gone after Absalom." 2Sam 15:14 Then David said to all his servants who were with him at Jerusalem, "Arise, and let us flee, or else there will be no escape for us from Absalom. Go quickly, lest he overtake us quickly and bring down ruin on us and strike the city with the edge of the sword."
Num 16:28 And Moses said, "Hereby you shall know that the LORD has sent me to do all these works, and that it has not been of my own accord. Num 16:29 If these men die as all men die, or if they are visited by the fate of all mankind, then the LORD has not sent me. Num 16:30 But if the LORD creates something new, and the ground opens its mouth and swallows them up with all that belongs to them, and they go down alive into Sheol, then you shall know that these men have despised the LORD." Num 16:31 And as soon as he had finished speaking all these words, the ground under them split apart. Num 16:32 And the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up, with their households and all the people who belonged to Korah and all their goods.
"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.Mat 5:3 also Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, "Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord." Rom 12:19 Do you know what the "Wrath of God" means? It is a terrible thing to fall into the Hands of the Living God. Heb 10:31. Maybe God is just waiting for someone to hand that person over? Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, and let not your heart be glad when he stumbles, lest the LORD see it and be displeased, and turn away his anger from him. Pro 24:17,18

Now pray this: Dear Lord, I now give you all my desires to take revenge, remove them from me, and I ask You Lord to act on my behalf. In Jesus name. Amen.
